TESTIMONIALS

“Because of the work of Stellar Reading Center, we are able to help more adults in our program that have struggled with reading and writing. There are many adults in our community that need this resource. A lot of them are too embarrassed to admit they cannot read but if there was a center that was focused on adult illiteracy, I believe that they would see they are not alone. It would be encouraging to know that they are not forgotten or too old to learn how to read. It is a cornerstone of our daily lives and everyone should be afforded the opportunity to learn.”

  • We have seen tremendous improvements in his reading, writing and desire to learn.

My name is Julie Carlton and my son, Atticus, is 6 years old and has dyslexia. When he was in Kindergarten, his teacher noticed he was having difficulties and referred us to Tabitha Molina at Stellar Reading Center.

Upon the first contact, Tabitha shared her passion for working with children, detailed her history of working with children and even shared a video with us explaining dyslexia and some common traits children with dyslexia portray.

As parents who have never dealt with dyslexia before, all the information she offered was extremely helpful and we were so grateful! From there, Tabitha met with us to assess our son and devise a plan to move forward filling in the gaps of his learning on an individualized basis.

Since April 2019, Tabitha has worked with our son twice a week and we have seen tremendous improvements in his reading, writing and desire to learn.

We are truly grateful for the passion Mrs. Molina exudes and for the tremendous impact she has made in our son’s life. We feel it was only by the grace of God that we were led to Stellar Reading Center and to Tabitha Molina. We know our lives would not be the same without her knowledge and expertise lighting our path through this journey. We can only imagine the impact Tabitha could have on children and adults alike if given a broader platform.

We love to share our story of what Tabitha Molina and Stellar Reading Center has done and continues to do in our lives!

  • Stellar has changed our family's life in a positive way!

Our daughter was in the third grade, and she was struggling with reading.  We knew she was having phonetic difficulties, but neither her teachers, nor myself, an educator, could pinpoint the problem.  Her teacher recommended Stellar Reading Center and it changed everything.

They did her initial screening and we discovered she was dyslexic.  Our initial parent response was shock and worry; however, Stellar explained it to us in friendly language we could understand and immediately set out a plan to help our daughter.  We felt comforted and thankful that we finally had answers.

Almost two years later, our daughter is doing much better and has shown consistent gains on her MAP assessments and GA Milestones.  It has also done wonders for her confidence.  She looks forward to going to tutoring twice a week and is excited to explain everything she has learned.  She even said Ms. Donna is her favorite teacher.

  • I am a firm believer that without you, Noah would not be where he is today.

We can’t send this announcment without acknowledging a big THANK YOU to you! Ten years ago, I was struggling with a little boy that just couldn’t seem to grasp his sight words. In no time, he was “behind”, and I was stressing about “fixing it”. These issues were clearly beyond my realm of expertise, but then God placed you right in the middle of that path. For that, I am forever grateful! You connected with Noah in ways that I did not have the knowledge to do. I still have never quite grasped the special language that y’all spoke. It was way over my head!

I am a firm believer that without you, Noah would not be where he is today. He connected with you, and he still mentions “Mrs. Tabitha” to this day.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the time, love, and commitment that you poured into Noah for many years. You have been a special part of Noah’s journey to graduation day. We are truly blessed by you, and we pray you are continuing to do well. I know Noah would love to hug your neck sometime soon!

  • Our family’s dyslexia journey began in May 2020

Our family’s dyslexia journey began in May 2020 after public school abruptly ended during the early months of the Covid 19 pandemic.

After 4-year and 5-year prekindergarten and 6-year-old kindergarten, our child could barely recall letters, much less read. His private reading tutor suggested his reading issues could stem from dyslexia. The tutor recommended that we reach out to Stellar Learning Center.

As a parent, I never thought my child would have a “learning disability.” The staff of Stellar guided our family on the next steps of this journey. They taught our family that our child’s “disability” is defined only by how the world thinks children should process language.

But most importantly, the staff at Stellar reiterated what we already know: dyslexia will not define our child.

Instead, Stellar gives our son a new learning and reading toolbox that builds confidence and continues to set a love for a budding young mind. Our tutor has worked with our son for three years now and has become an advocate with us along this path. Our son is excelling in public school and proving that his inquisitive, brilliant mind is not defined by a “learning disability.” His reading development and academic success would not be possible without Stellar Learning Center.

  • I’m so proud of him and the confidence he has now.

Thank you! Brady is reading outstandingly!! He and I have been watching the Star Wars series (in order) and he reads the opening Star Wars updates. Of course they run pretty quickly and are several paragraphs long.

I’m so proud of him and the confidence he has now. You and your team are a blessing from God to all those with dyslexia. I pray His blessing to continue for each of you.

Russell’s Story with Stellar Reading Center

Going to school was very hard for me, I was basically put in Special Ed classes and pushed through.

Going to school was very hard for me, I was basically put in Special Ed classes and pushed through. I knew that something was wrong, but I didn’t know what it was or how to ask for help. I was embarrassed to ask my teacher anything, because it was more comfortable for me to be quiet and hope that I would go unnoticed. When I graduated, I knew that I was basically a non-reader. This has slowed me down a lot. I have struggled getting jobs because I couldn’t read a job application. When I would try to apply for a job and tell them that I couldn’t read, no one said anything. They would just look at me, and that was embarrassing. It tears you down. I really wanted to attend college, but I didn’t have the confidence to do so. Again, I was too embarrassed. I decided that maybe I could join the Army, but I couldn’t read any of the questions, although I did pass the math part of the admittance form. Not only has my career been affected, but socially it has also been very difficult. I have always avoided any situation where I may have to read, and that pretty much means any social gathering, including church. I couldn’t even read a menu. I liked to go where there were numbers on the board for the food, that way I could just say a number. Eventually, I was led to Sylvan Learning Center where I was diagnosed with dyslexia, but they couldn’t help me with any of their programs. I finally had a reason behind my struggles. At some point my wife Amanda told me about Stellar Reading Center, where my cousin Fanesia happened to be a Tutor for people with dyslexia. I started tutoring sessions with Stellar Reading Center and I had no idea just how awesome tutoring was going to be and that it would help me so much! I now have more confidence in reading and really hope to attend college one day. Stellar Reading Center has been a life changer for me.
